Let's Bee Social #227

Welcome to the Let's Bee Social! This week Jennifer Allen contacted me via Facebook to send me these beautiful photos! And she wrote. "Hello Lorna! I have now completed two quilts using your adorable animal patterns! I would love to share the pictures with you! Thank you for your adorable and fun designs! They were perfect for my grand baby’s woodland themed nursery!"

I love how Jennifer added the raccoon blocks to the other forest friends. And then the bright and fun flying geese border? Brilliant!!!

Pam of Bear Patch Quilting Co. recently ordered some of my patterns for her shop in White Bear Lake, MN. She then shared this cute photo with me of the sample quilt made. I am going to suggest that you visit their blog to look at the slideshow of all their class offerings, including the giraffes!

What have I been busy with? Each week I struggle to come up with a Let's Bee Social post because I have not been doing nearly as much sewing as I used to. But this week I thought I would include some updates on my life in general as well. I had a Trunk Show in Fergus, Ontario last Wednesday night. And was a vendor for a quilt show in Mount Forest, Ontario on Friday and Saturday.

What else is new? Folding and packaging patterns always...

What else is new? I broke my truck and had to buy a new one....

What else is new? I got the final borders pieced and sewed two of them on the Christmas Sweaters quilt. Also prepped the binding.

What else is new? I bought a real bed....

And will be sending the old single bed downstairs for storage or give it away....

What else is new? My new neighbours are all encouraging me as I work on getting rid of the flower garden along each side of my driveway. I still have more to go along this side of the house. I plan on moving some of the bigger plants to the other side of the house where the garden will be staying....

What else is new? Me and my Tula Pink purse are still hanging out together. No trips to Texas lately. But plenty of trips to the post office. Which is good!

Hopefully you've had more time for stitching than I have!

Now... It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!

Giraffes in a Row {Sold Out}

Thank you everybody.

That's all I can say!

Since my participation of Houston Quilt Market this past October 2017, which you can read about here, I have been wondering if the expense of taking the trip would pay off. I mean how can you really tell?

If there has since been an increase in sales...

Was it due to exposure gained from being at Market?
Was it due to being taken on by PA Distributors just prior to Market?
Or was it simply due to a viral Pinterest post?

Who can really know?

Andrea Schmidt sent me an email with the photo shown above attached and said, "Lorna, I snapped this picture at Gruber’s Quilts on Saturday at International Quilt Festival Chicago. I am glad I already had my pattern. I love your patterns. Thanks so much!"

Who can really know what makes a pattern popular? Is there a formula for success?

All I know is that I fell in love with Giraffes in a Row when I made both of my quilt versions. I could not resist them and took them on as my Sew Fresh Quilts logo. Those cute wee faces, eh?

Giraffes in a Row 39" x 39"

Giraffes in a Row 57" x 57"

Who really cares about the answer to all these questions?

I am happy to be doing what I love....
Happy to be able to share that love with others when they enjoy making from my patterns....
And happy to just keep on quilting together and doing what we love!

Let's Bee Social #224

Welcome to the Let's Bee Social!

These past few weeks have been very busy with shows and workshops. And the weather has been crazy! But during that bad weather I managed to put together the entire 20 blocks for my Christmas Sweaters quilt. Now I just have to arrange them into rows and transform this into my first quilt top made in my new home.

DID YOU KNOW?????

Sandra of Musing of a Menopausal Melon is soon hosting her 2nd Annual Quilt Along, It's for Plus Playtime, which is in the latest issue of Modern by the Yard, the Benartex ezine. The link to the pattern (which is FREE!) is on their blog, Sew In Love With Fabric, in the top spot on the sidebar.

The QAL will run from April 24 (sponsors post) to July 5. Actual fabric requirements post is May 1, but you can get them anytime in the ezine. It's looking like a great prize lineup and Stitch Stash Diva (and possibly a CA shop too) is going to curate kits for it.

Interested???? Check out Sandra's beautiful Plus Playtime post here.
